The scriptures teach: 'If ye are prepared ye shall not fear' (D&C 38:30). The Area Presidency has designated the months of March, April and May for the preparation of individuals, families, wards/branches, and stakes/districts, to adequately respond to emergency situations that may arise.
The best time to prepare for an emergency is before it occurs. This will require individual actions, including a personal food storage program, maintaining a 72-hour emergency kit for each family member, and a family emergency response plan.
