Port of Spain, Trinidad—March 16, 2025. The Port of Spain Stake Conference, held at the Port of Spain Stake Center, united members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Trinidad and Tobago for an inspiring day of spiritual enrichment and community. Themed “Strengthening Faith and Commitment,” the conference highlighted uplifting messages and testimonies from distinguished speakers.
Embracing the Lord’s Plan. President Christopher Danzell, Stake President, delivered the opening address with a heartfelt message on trusting in the Lord’s plan during life's challenges. Sharing a personal experience, he illustrated the guiding power of the Holy Spirit and encouraged reliance on prayer and scripture study.
Living Christ-Centered Lives. Representing the Primary, Ephraim Byng shared insights on the importance of making Christ the focal point of one’s life. He emphasized obedience, repentance, and the blessings of a personal relationship with the Savior, inspiring all with the transformative power of the Atonement.
Standing Firm in Faith. Kareena David, a young member of the Chaguanas Branch, spoke passionately about living faith daily and with courage. Her testimony of sharing the gospel with peers resonated deeply, showcasing the strength found in embracing and openly expressing beliefs.
Missionary Work and Preparation. Returned missionary Agostino Victor reflected on his experiences in the Jamaica Kingston Mission, emphasizing the need for preparation and testimony in sharing the gospel. He called on young members to adopt a missionary mindset and live lives that invite the Spirit.
Strengthening Families Through Gospel Principles. Joseph Warner, Stake Patriarch, underscored the gospel's role in fortifying families. His talk illustrated how Christ-centered homes and practices, such as family prayer and scripture study, create safe havens of faith and love.
Heeding Prophetic Counsel. President Van Gils, Mission President of the Guyana Georgetown Mission, urged attendees to follow prophetic counsel. His message celebrated the teachings of President Russell M. Nelson, emphasizing temple worship and deepened scripture study.
Holding to the Iron Rod. Concluding the event, Elder Claude Gamiette, Area Seventy, delivered a powerful address on perseverance. Drawing on the Book of Mormon’s vision of the Tree of Life, he inspired members to remain steadfast, holding fast to gospel principles despite challenges.
A Call to Action. The conference inspired attendees to reflect on the teachings shared and apply them in daily life. With renewed faith and strengthened commitment, participants left eager to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.
