We are pleased to inform you that today, October 28th 2022, from 9:30 until 12:15, members of the San Nicolas Aruba Branch of the ABC District, had a scheduled visit to the Archivo Nacional di Aruba (ANA), in order to do research and to gather information concerning Family History.
The group of nine was led by Family History specialist, sister Gladys Courtar and senior missionaries Elder and Sister Packard.
Most members of the delegation were able to receive a great amount of knowledge concerning their ancestors and on other work that is done at the National Archive.
We were also informed by Mr. Bikker in charge of documentation and Mr. Croes in charge of system administration, that in the year 2011, Senior missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, by the name of Elder and Sister Despain, visited Aruba and helped to research, document and put on micro films, information concerning the population of Aruba until the Separate Status of Aruba from the Netherland Antilles on the 1st of January 1986.
The Directors of the ABC Communication would like to thank Sister Gladys Courtar of the San Nicolas Branch, for organizing and inviting us and we would also like to thank Mrs. Shakira Croes, Mr. Victorino Bikker, Mr. Eldrick Croes and all other personnel of the National Archive for the excellent work and service they do for the community of Aruba.
