About the Event
“The theme, ‘Un corazón agradecido’ (A Thankful Heart), really captures the essence of what we aim to convey — gratitude as a cornerstone of our lives and communities. By coming together in this celebration, we’re not just enjoying music, dance and the spoken word, but we’re also reaffirming our commitment to unity, faith and cultural pride within the Latino community and beyond,” said Israel González-Nieri, Luz de las Naciones director.
Now in its 22nd year, this event features a cast of 1,000 volunteer musical artists wearing traditional clothing and performing music and dances that showcase both traditional and contemporary music from countries like Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil and Peru.
“This year’s event is set to be particularly memorable as we express our thankfulness and honor the traditions and people that have made Luz de las Naciones such a cherished event over the years,” he said.
“Each performance will highlight the incredible diversity and richness of Latino heritage, offering a heartfelt expression of gratitude through song. It’s going to be a truly special experience for everyone involved,” González-Nieri said.
