A New Chapter Begins for the Curepe Ward
After nearly ten years of sharing a meetinghouse with the Arima Ward, members of the Curepe Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are delighted to once again have a chapel to call their own.
The opening of the new meetinghouse was a joyful occasion filled with gratitude and excitement as members eagerly gathered in anticipation of touring their new building. The event was presided over by Bishop Cameron Victor, who welcomed everyone into the new meetinghouse and marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Curepe Ward. Following his remarks, Brother Michael Rupa, the Church’s Facilities Manager, shared a few comments before leading members on a tour of the facility, highlighting its newest features and additions.
Among the most celebrated additions was the dedicated mothers’ room. Mothers expressed their excitement and appreciation for having a comfortable, private space to care for their young children while still feeling connected to worship services. The addition reflects the Church’s continued commitment to supporting families and creating a welcoming environment for all.
Another standout feature is the dedicated Young Single Adult (YSA) gathering space: the first of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean. The YSAs in attendance were especially excited about the opportunities the space will provide to strengthen their friendships, build faith, and foster a greater sense of community through meaningful activities and gatherings. It represents an exciting investment in the future of the rising generation.
The opening of this new meetinghouse marks more than just a new building: it represents faith, growth, and the blessings that come from years of patience and anticipation. Members left with renewed enthusiasm and gratitude, looking forward to worshipping and serving together in their new church home.
