Elder Valeri V. Cordón

Valeri V. Cordón was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2016.

Church Service

Elder Valeri V. Cordón was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2016. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy in the Central America Area. He served as a member of the Central America Area Presidency and recently served as president of the California Los Angeles Mission. He also served in the North America West Area Presidency as well as the Assistant Executive Director in the Priesthood and Family Department. He is currently serving as President of Caribbean Area.

Elder Cordón has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the El Salvador Mission, seminary and institute teacher, elders quorum president, ward Sunday School president, counselor in a mission presidency, high councilor, bishop, stake president, and Area Seventy.

Professional Life

Elder Cordón received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Mariano Galvez University in Guatemala and a master of business administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012. In the information technology industry, he has worked as a system analyst, customer service manager, support manager, director of IT strategy planning and control, director of strategy and planning for emerging markets, and a director of performance management. Just before he was called as a General Authority, he worked as a director of business information solutions for PepsiCo Foods.

Personal Life

Valeri Vladimir Cordón Orellana was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, on February 19, 1969. He married Glenda Zelmira Zea Diaz in March 1995. They are the parents of three children.

Elder Hugo Montoya

Hugo Montoya was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015.

Church Service

Elder Hugo Montoya was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015. At the time of his call, he had been serving as an Area Seventy and a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy in the Mexico Area. He served in the South America Northwest Area Presidency and the North America Southeast Area Presidency. He also served at Church headquarters as Assistant Executive Director in the Temple Department and as a member of the Boundary and Leadership Change Committee. He currently serves in the Caribbean Area Presidency.

Elder Montoya has served in several Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Mexico North Mission, stake missionary work leader, Young Men president, elders quorum president, high councilor, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, stake president, assistant area auditor, and area auditor for the Mexico Area.

Professional Life

Montoya worked at a family grape vineyard from 1975 to 1992. He worked as an institute teacher for the Church Educational System from 1988 until 1992. He also worked with Xerox from 1996 to 2015. Elder Montoya and his wife were owners of a tortilla shop and several other family businesses from 1993 to 2011.

Personal Life

Hugo Montoya Monroy was born in Fresno, California. He married Maria del Carmen Balvastro in 1983. They are the parents of five children.

Elder Ahmad S. Corbitt

Ahmad S. Corbitt was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 1, 2023.

Church Service

Elder Ahmad S. Corbitt was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2023 general conference. At the time of his call, he was serving as First Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency. He currently serves in the Caribbean Area Presidency.

Elder Corbitt has served in several Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission, primary teacher, youth leader, elders quorum president, high councilor, counselor in two stake presidencies, stake president, and president of the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission.

Professional Life

Elder Corbitt received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Richard Stockton University of New Jersey in 1989 and a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 1993. He has worked as a trial attorney, as vice president and general counsel for a New York public relations firm, and as executive director of corporate communications and government relations and associate general counsel for a Delaware company. He directed the Church’s New York Office of Public and International Affairs and, most recently, trained mission leaders as an Area Mission Specialist.

Personal Life

Ahmad Saleem Corbitt was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 16, 1962. He married Jayne Lillian Joslin in 1985. They are the parents of six children.

Elder Paul H. Jean Baptiste

Elder Paul H. Jean Baptiste was named an Area Seventy and a member of the Sixth Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2021 General Conference.

Elder Jean Baptiste received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Quisqueya University. He works as owner and chief executive officer of a commodity and transportation business.

Elder Jean Baptiste has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission, bishop, audit committee chairman, and counselor in a stake presidency.

Paul Henry Jean Baptiste was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on May 26, 1976. He married Wildermina Voltaire in 2000. They are the parents of three children. Elder and Sister Jean Baptiste reside in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Elder Claude R. Gamiette, was called as an Area Authority Seventy and as a member of the Sixth Quorum of Seventy, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the April 2022 general conference.

He is a manager in the Caribbean Area of the Self-Sufficiency department; he served as branch president, second counselor in the district presidency, district president, member of the mission presidency, and mission president; wife: Delphine; Five sons.

Elder Gamiette was born in Pointe-à-Pître, Guadeloupe, and is married to Delphine Gamiette and they have five children.

Elder Carlos J. Lantigua, was called as an Area Authority Seventy and as a member of the Sixth Quorum of Seventy, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at the General Conference leadership session on Thursday, May 30. March 2023.

Elder Carlos J. Lantigua is the Sales Manager of Cartonera Hued SAS.

Elder Lantigua has served in various Church callings; he currently serves as president of the Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Las Americas Stake; he has been a bishop, a counselor in the branch presidency, and a member of the high council; wife: Niurka Atavelis; one child.
